Kizzie Scott was elected on September 14, 2020 as Councilmember for Ward 3. Ms. Kizzie Scott was born in Washington, DC, and moved to Prince George's County, Maryland, in 1990. She graduated from Potomac High School in 1997. Kizzie Scott has been an active resident of Seat Pleasant for the last 13 years.
Kizzie Scott retired from Homeland Security as a Sergeant, where she managed 85 staff members. After retirement, Ms. Scott became the founder and Chief Executive Officer of K&D Cleaning Solutions Corporation.
Ms. Kizzie Scott is a strong supporter of the Smart City of Excellence and will continue to advocate and improve the community by making it a safe place to live, work and play. Ms. Scott was appointed the Chair of Public Safety, and a member of the Environmental Justice and Transportation, and the Economic, Planning Development and Housing Committees.
Ms. Scott believes in education and has made materials accessible to youth and adults by placing a bookcase outside of her residence. Ms. Scott volunteers to feed the homeless, serve the elderly, and devote time to assist children and young adults with special needs. Ms. Scott voluntarily cleans up the debris on her residential street and will be working on restoring the Beautification Committee within the City of Seat Pleasant.
Kizzie Scott has strong family ties and is a mother of 2 sons, ages 17 and 9.
